Privacy Policy
TaxMap (“we”, “us”) is a tax planning product for Indian salaried taxpayers. It is not an Income Tax Return (ITR) filing service, not a chartered accountant, and not tax, legal, or investment advice.
1. Who we are
TaxMap is operated in connection with eRevolutions India and hosted at taxmap.erevolutionsindia.com. For privacy requests, email privacy@erevolutionsindia.com.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use TaxMap, we may process:
- Account data — email address, name, and a hashed password if you register.
- Tax planning inputs — figures you enter such as annual CTC, deductions, regime preference, and opportunity / roadmap statuses.
- Optional imports — text you paste from salary slips, AIS, Form 26AS, or similar (processed to help estimates; we do not file returns with the Income Tax Department on your behalf).
- Device & push data — device tokens if you enable notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Usage & diagnostics — basic technical logs (IP, timestamps, endpoints) for security and reliability; analytics may be collected if Firebase Analytics is enabled in your app build.
- On-device data — local caches and an optional app PIN stored on your device (we do not receive your PIN in clear text).
3. How we use data
- To calculate regime comparisons and savings roadmaps you request.
- To sync your saved profile and opportunity progress when you are signed in.
- To send optional reminders (for example investment calendar alerts) if you opt in to notifications.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- To respond to support or legal requests where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal basis / consent (India)
We process personal data to provide the service you request, for our legitimate interest in securing and operating TaxMap, and where required with your consent (for example push notifications). You may withdraw non-essential consents and request access, correction, or deletion as described below, consistent with applicable Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (as in force).
5. Sharing
We may share data only with:
- Infrastructure providers needed to host the API, database, cache, and TLS (for example cloud / VPS vendors).
- Firebase / Google if push or analytics features are enabled in your build.
- Authorities when legally compelled.
We do not share your tax inputs with third-party advertisers.
6. Security
Passwords are stored hashed. Access to admin tools is restricted. Transport should use HTTPS in production. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and keep your device PIN private.
7. Your choices
- Use guest Analyze without creating an account (limited persistence).
- Update or delete account data by contacting us, or via in-app settings when available.
- Disable notifications in OS settings; revoke device tokens by signing out / removing the app.
- Clear on-device caches by uninstalling the app.
8. Children
TaxMap is intended for adults managing their own tax planning. Do not use the service if you are under 18.
9. International transfers
Servers may be located in India or another region used by our hosting provider. Where data is processed outside India, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the destination and purpose.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy for future processing.
